Best Segment
Eddie Gilbert vs. J.T. Smith was pretty fun with a wild brawl to start and then a good controversial finish to close it out. Sandwiched in between was Terry Funk getting involved to further build his heat with Gilbert. Eddie stands out here with so much charisma and the crowd is very drawn to him throughout his appearances. Honorable mentions for Johnny Hotbody vs. Glen Osbourne and the Super Destroyers attack on Stetson & Winters.
Best Performance
Eddie Gilbert was great again but we already know that, so I am going to mix it up here and give some love to Johnny Hotbody. I think he is the one that rose his stock the most this week, really working aggressively in his match with Glen Osbourne, breaking out some varied offense and cutting a good pace. He also attacked Tommy Cairo after his match to keep their feud simmering.
Biggest Surprise
Seeing Sandman as a happy go lucky Sting knock off, right down to trying some high flying offense and yelping to the crowd. It was certainly jarring to see.
I Love the 90s
Glenn Osbourne's Ultimate Warrior knock off homeless man's cosplay costume is straight out of 1993 for sure. Also Hunter Q. Robbins calling Larry Winters "Bart Simpson" and Tony Stetson "Homer Simpson" and Larry Winters' never ending mullet.
Additional Observations
Why is it so hard to hear Jay Sulli? Stevie Wonderful comes through loud and clear, is it the way he holds the mic?; The Gilbert vs. Funk feud continued to percolate here, right off the top of the show again; "He weighs 300 pounds counting his ego" is a great line; Glen Osbourne is such a generic name for a maniac in make up cosplaying Ultimate Warrior; Funk is so good on commentary here, it was a big boost for them to have him available for this; Hotbody suplexing Osbourne on the floor was a nice spot, probably the best we have seen to date so far; "Hot tag action";The knock offs continue with Chris Michaels and Samoan Warrior; Sulli and Stevie talking about the hot ring girls was pretty funny; Larry Winters looks like the bad guy in a comedy movie; I can't decide if Kodiak Bear is the best wrestling name or the worst wrestling name; Nice mention by Stevie how Gilbert and Snuka could have to face off in the finals of the tournament, he has been impressive as a color guy; I like the usage of the JIP matches to close out the show; There are a lot of similarities between this show and rudimentary WCCW as far as formatting, presentation and characters
